      <abstract>
        <p>Patients with cancers often present to emergency department with an acute onset of symptoms, so-called oncologic emergencies. An oncologic emergency may arise as an initial presentation, a consequence of cancer progression or a complication of therapy. Most oncologic emergencies require interdisciplinary management. In this review, we discuss some common oncologic emergencies and principles of their management.&#13;
